Privacy policy

Last updated: 8 October 2026

In short

  • The website sets no cookies and uses no analytics or advertising.
  • The Humcase app keeps your data on your computer. There is no account, and we never receive your cases.
  • If you turn on an AI or dictation feature, the text or audio goes from your computer straight to the provider you chose, with your own key.
  • If you write to us, your message is used only to answer you.

Who is responsible

The data controller is the publisher of humcase.com, named in the legal notice. For any question about your data: contact@humcase.com.

The website

The site is hosted by Cloudflare. To deliver pages and protect the site against attacks, Cloudflare processes technical connection data: IP address, browser, pages requested, date and time. Cloudflare acts on our behalf; its own practices are described in the Cloudflare privacy policy.

The site sets no cookies, stores nothing in your browser and loads no analytics, advertising or social media tools. Its fonts are served from humcase.com itself. No consent banner is therefore needed.

The release news form is not open yet: nothing you type in it is sent.

When you write to us

Messages sent to a humcase.com address are forwarded by Cloudflare Email Routing to the publisher’s mailbox, hosted by Google (Gmail). We use your address and your message only to answer you and follow up on the exchange, which is our legitimate interest. We keep them only as long as the exchange needs, and never share them.

The Humcase app

Humcase is a local application. Your cases, projects, images and settings are stored in a folder of your computer (.humcase in your user folder). The app needs no account, sends no usage statistics and contains no tracker. We have no access to your data.

Optional AI and dictation features

Some features call an online provider, only when you turn them on and enter your own API key:

  • text cleanup and structuring: Cerebras, OpenAI, Groq, OpenRouter, or an address you set yourself;
  • voice dictation: Deepgram;
  • suggested case types: TypeSafe (Jev), which receives a case’s title and first 300 words, with what looks like secrets or email addresses removed.

The content is sent from your computer to that provider, under the contract you have with it; we are not a party to it and receive nothing. A local model (Ollama) keeps everything on your computer.

AI agents

The agents you connect to Humcase (Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, opencode…) read and write your cases on your computer. What they send online is governed by those tools and their providers.

Transfers outside the European Union

Cloudflare and Google are based in the United States. Transfers rely on the safeguards these providers offer: the EU-US Data Privacy Framework and the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses.

Your rights

Under the GDPR and the French Data Protection Act, you can access your data, correct it, erase it, restrict or object to its processing, and ask for its portability. Write to contact@humcase.com; we answer within one month.

You can also lodge a complaint with the CNIL, the French data protection authority (cnil.fr), or with the authority of your country.

Changes

We will update this policy when the site or the app changes what it does with data, for example when the release news opens. The date at the top shows the latest version.
